Certificates of Origin
Do you want the opportunity to learn how your chamber can earn non-dues revenue by issuing Certificates of Origin?
What is a Certificate of Origin? A Certificate of Origin is an official document that certifies the country where goods were manufactured, produced, or processed. It is commonly required in international trade to verify the origin of products for customs clearance, tariff determination, trade agreements, and compliance with import regulations. Certificates of Origin are issued or authenticated by a chamber of commerce.
We’ve done the research so you don’t have to!
Chambers of Commerce are authorized to provide Certificates of Origin. Issuing these important documents is a great way to make non-dues revenue and connect to employers in the region. However, becoming an issuing agency can be daunting as there are no good resources for training.
We’ve created a 5-part video series, over 40 minutes of training, explaining what they are and how to complete them.
- Video #1 – Introduction to COOs: What, Why & When
- Video #2 – Issuing Bodies & Requirements
- Video #3 – How Certificates of Origin are Issued
- Video #4 – Completing the Certificate of Origin Form
- Video #5 – Special Cases, Attestations, & Certifications
Sample documents will be included as well as follow-up support from our chamber staff.
Total program cost is $200 per chamber.

Certificates of Origin don’t have to be scary or complicated but you need to understand the responsibility and process. Even if you’ve been issuing them, this series will help to refine your knowledge.
